Nomkhubulwane makes her final stop in Chicago at the Field Museum

June 17 – July 30
The Field Museum
North Terrace

If an elephant sculpture made in South Africa from used truck tires sitting on a sidewalk in Chicago can stimulate creative thinking among designers around the interaction between humans and the environment, what effect can she have with our children? We hope to find out as Nombkhubulwane spends the final two weeks of her Chicago visit at the entrance to the Field Museum. Her presence helps publicize the Field Museum’s current exhibition, Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age.

Children from all over Chicago have the opportunity to engage with the elephant and discover her role in fostering a greater understanding of sustainability as well as our role and context in the overall environment.
