See FOLIO #4 brought to life! Visitors to showroom 10-121 were treated to a special “Peep Show” courtesy of InterfaceFLOR. It’s a celebration of play at NeoCon 2011.
The cardboard city represents space (commercial and residential) and any urban city. The cardboard city was conceived to be iconic and memorable – exclusively for the InterfaceFLOR. Through the imagery, viewers see a flat cardboard city add dimension, subtle charm and juxtaposition. The use of cardboard is a gentle nod to “sustainability” and “repurpose”, while the pixelated segues between images represent “modularity”, all attributes of InterfaceFLOR’s products and brand.
lor.com/makeyourmark”>Make Your Mark” is always about achievement. About aspirational surroundings inspiring our audience to reach higher, which is why we also chose locations of great height for the photo shoot.
The Artist Behind the Peep Show
Martyn Thompson is an acclaimed photographer known worldwide. This is one of Martyn's first videos ~ which he created on InterfaceFLOR’s behalf. We knew we wanted something whimsical that represented another side of the brand. As an innovative brand, InterfaceFLOR also has the foresight to know when NOT to take ourselves too seriously. This is an example of a unique and exclusive branding asset, where most brands are not willing to go.
Martyn created ‘cardboard characters’ to live in that cardboard city. The story is self explanatory, but also leaves room for one’s own interpretation. There is a nod, however, to the Red Carpet Collection at the end.
The takeaway here is pure delight. Connected back to InterfaceFLOR, that’s powerful. See for yourself below and be sure to stop by showroom 10-121 to pick up your very own copy of FOLIO #4.
As the distinction between shared and private spaces blurs, InterfaceFLOR and FLOR have come to inhabit the same places. The personal and the public have become interchangeable, so we’ve combined to pave the way for artists and designers to discover their muse and break new ground.
Join the movement to overthrow the status quo; transforming the spaces we inhabit, repurposing the past and reinventing a sustainable future. We believe individual expression flourishes in the fertile ground of modular possibilities. That’s what the Make Your Mark concept is all about.

InterfaceFLOR is redefining luxury in modular carpet tile for commercial installation. What does that mean to you? You get the same opulent look of high-end broadloom carpet but with no more resources used to make it. At NeoCon, luxury and sustainability have finally hit a crossroads!
Here are the details on our whole suite of products that are redefining luxury:
It’s all in the details. Color impacts the perception of texture and texture imparts a sense of depth. The simple neutral palette of Striation is made complex through rich, saturated colors and finely drawn lines that describe a greater dimension. An i
mported silk comes to mind, the imprecise threads of color creating sublime perfection. This is luxury without limits and a design that will go places. The fact that Striation is made from 100% non-virgin yarn is the greatest detail of all.
With its name a nod to geology and the earth’s earliest formation of rock beds, Silurian is organic, linear and well, quite frankly, bedrock for any décor. The look is a lasting classic. Nature’s colors predominate. And yes, luxury is very clearly conveyed via a sheared face that contributes to the textured effects and a sense of volume.
Smithfield Stripe & Finsbury Square
Dapper, natty and urbane. It may sound like a high-powered law firm, but, to be sure, it’s an apt description of this flooring duo. Only one step removed from menswear fashion, these tailored stripes offer a timeless look for any well groomed interior.
Smithfield Stripe is articulated by a close pacing of pinstripes for color with a velvet finish for texture. Finsbury Square presents the same elements with a slightly more expansive scale and a slightly more eccentric rhythm.
