When Chicago’s Rush University set out to build a new hospital it had a single, overarching goal: meet the high standards for quality of care set by the people who work there. To bring this goal to life, Rush enlisted Perkins + Will to design the 14-story tower that would be the cornerstone of the hospital’s expansion. The design team took care to incorporate elements that underscored Rush’s commitment to sustainability, including rooftop gardens, energy efficient heating, cooling and lighting, and sustainable finishes and furnishings. Interface carpet tiles were used throughout the facility to support the open, modern esthetic.
